Wonderful Night's Sleep by the Sea
Each bedroom is furnished with family antiques and custom-designed pine
furniture built by my father and I. The curtains were hand-sewn locally, original artwork is by your host Kevin Creaser -- that's me. As well, Gladee's has a unique gathering of Nova Scotian
collectables.
Queen size bed and two doubles accommodate six. Two of the beds have
antique frames
used by my great-grandfather's family. We fitted them to new, quality
mattresses which top box springs, thereby adding to our guests' comfort. Each
bed has two night stands and two small, mood-setting table lamps. Soft
romance or settling in for a
good read, the choice is yours. The bedrooms have flashlights -- even if
they're not needed, the youngsters enjoy using them!

You'll have a wonderful sleep in the master bedroom, "Gladee's Blue Ocean,"
where you'll awaken to the sound of rounding surf. From the bed, you can
look out both windows for spectacular views of the lake and ocean. In
the spring, I've often been treated to the charming sight of ducks swimming in the lake
with their young. Flocks of herring gulls are friendly, frequent
flyers who like to flit by and say, "Hello!"

"Gladee's Green Leaf Room" has an antique armoire with
drawers for your clothes. Translucent leaf shades on table nightlights cast
a romantic glow. A small, adjoining deck beckons, inviting you to enjoy the
evening as the sun goes down. Two Adirondack chairs and a small chair
complete the package.

Our
upstairs "Gladee's Rose Room" has lovely family antique furnishings with
original, fully
restored doors and mouldings.

Whatever bedroom you choose, you'll awaken relaxed and refreshed to the sweet smell of sea air and the unforgettable sound
of Hirtle's rolling surf.
